As Senior Vice President, I led a campus-wide scholarship initiative for professional clothing ahead of recruitment week, conducted outreach to student clubs, professors, and university departments to promote participation, and developed our recruitment theme: Exceed Your Mindset.

I planned and executed our one-week-long recruitment process, which culminated in structured interview sessions where I designed and managed a Google Sheets-based interview evaluation system, integrating score templates across 10 interview tables with 4–5 recruiters per table. A centralized master spreadsheet streamlined real-time scoring and enhanced the efficiency of candidate assessments.

Beyond recruitment, I facilitated professional development workshops—including an AI brainstorming session—and maintained clear communication between the executive board and members through weekly newsletters.

Leadership & Professionalism Scholarship

I organized a campus-wide scholarship to support professional clothing needs, awarding $250 each to one male and one female student. The scholarship was made possible through generous donations from two alumni. The next two images show the outreach messages sent to them.

Recruitment Week Agenda

I managed all logistical aspects of the Fall 2024 five-day recruitment week for the organization. My responsibilities included booking all event spaces, hosting pre-recruitment workshops for members, organizing a pre-recruitment event for interested students, serving as the face of the organization throughout the week, leading every event, and acting as the primary point of contact for all recruits. I was responsible for creating all forms, including the potential interest form and official application, as well as designing and managing a Google Sheets-based interview evaluation system. This system integrated score templates across 10 interview tables with 4–5 recruiters per table, and a centralized master spreadsheet that streamlined real-time scoring and enhanced the efficiency of candidate assessments.
I also handled communication with both current and potential members and coordinated closely with the Vice President of Alumni Relations, Vice President of Professional Activities, Vice President of Community Service, Brotherhood Chair, Vice President of Operations, and Marketing Chair to ensure the week’s success.

Meet the Chapter + Alumni Panel

Meet the Chapter + Alumni Panel consisted of welcoming everyone, introducing the organization, outlining the week’s schedule, and presenting the leadership board. Afterward, we hosted an alumni panel featuring five alumni speakers, moderated by our Vice President of Alumni Relations. Following the panel, the remainder of the event was dedicated to open mingling, giving potential new members the opportunity to connect with current members.

Professional Speaker + Service Activity

Our Professional Speaker + Service Activity event began with a talk by Mia Britel, a senior executive, consultant, and partner at Deloitte. Following her inspiring session, we set up a service station near the exit where potential new members could write letters to children supported by the Ronald McDonald House—our community service partner for the semester, selected by our Vice President of Community Service.

Case Competition + Resume Review

Case Competition + Resume Review began by dividing potential new members into randomized groups and assigning them a case study focused on organizational behavior. The case was selected in collaboration with my Organizational Behavior professor, Dr. Christopher Collins. Each group had 45 minutes to develop a solution and prepare a brief presentation.
Groups then presented their solutions to a panel of judges, which included Dr. Collins, Dr. Reka Lassu (also an OB professor), and Mia Britel, our professional speaker from the previous day who returned to serve as a guest judge. Presentations were held in a separate room from where the teams initially worked.
While groups waited to present, potential new members participated in a Member Panel—a casual Q&A session where they could ask current members about their experiences in the organization.
After presenting, each group was directed to another room for Resume Reviews led by members with experience working at the Pepperdine Career Center. This provided recruits with valuable one-on-one feedback on their resumes before rejoining the main group.

Social Night

Social Night is designed to showcase and share the community of our organization. After a full week of professional events, formal attire, and structured interactions, this relaxed event, held at the beach—gives potential new members the chance to connect with current members on a more personal level. We believe that truly getting to know someone beyond a professional setting is just as important.

Tabling!

I was also responsible for coordinating on-campus tabling efforts by working with the university and Warehouse Services, as well as managing which members would table each day. I organized this process by creating sign-up sheets to ensure full coverage and smooth scheduling throughout the week.

AI Brainstorming Workshop

After reading Marketing AI by Paul Roetzer, I was inspired to lead a 15-minute AI workshop during one of our organization's weekly meetings. The following slides were created for that session.

Will AI Replace Us?

To start the workshop, I asked for two volunteers—one to defend the position that AI will replace us, and the other to argue that AI will not replace us. Each volunteer was given a few minutes to prepare and then one minute to present their argument. After both speeches, the members voted on which volunteer they believed presented the most valid points.

Belief of Fear of AI

After the previous activity, I addressed the concern of AI replacing human roles and shared insights from Marketing AI, specifically in the context of marketing—while encouraging members to consider how these ideas could apply to any field.

Netflix AI

Next, I encouraged members to begin thinking about how they could incorporate AI into their projects, internships, and future careers. I shared an example of an idea I had on how Netflix could integrate artificial intelligence to enhance its offerings.

Incorporation of AI into Comapnies & Brands

We ended the workshop by dividing members into small groups and giving them five minutes to choose a brand or company and brainstorm ways it could incorporate AI. The ideas shared were creative and diverse—ranging from sports organizations to makeup brands, each with unique approaches to leveraging AI.
